Creating Charts from DataStar

BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines can build charts from search results from R&D Insight, R&D Focus, or Pharmaprojects on DataStar Web. Results should be displayed in the standard tagged text format.

BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines also includes an interface to search Pharmaprojects, R&D Focus, and R&D Insight on DataStar. (Note that in November 2007 the host name for connecting to DataStar changed. Click here for more information.)

Step by Step

These steps apply to exporting from DataStar Web. To use the search interface in BizInt Smart Charts, please see software Help.

  1. Access your DataStar Web account.
  2. Conduct your search, selecting the records you want to export, and select "Full" for the Display Format, "Tagged (for tables)" for the Output Format, and "Save" for the Action, as pictured below.

  3. You will be presented a dialog asking you to Save or Open. Choose "Save".

    Change the destination folder, if needed. Click on Save.

  4. Find the file on your computer.
  5. Import it into SmartCharts.
