Creating Charts from IDdb3

BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines 3.0 or higher supports importing IDdb XML data. BizInt Smart Charts users can create tables containing key IDdb data. These tables can then be combined with tables created from other drug pipeline databases.

BizInt Smart Charts for Patents 3.3 or higher supports creation of patents reports from the IDdb.

Setting your Preferences - Step by Step

  1. Login to your IDdb account.
  2. Under Personal, Select Preferences, and then Results



  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Results preferences page to the section "BizInt Version." Select the "Yes" radio button to indicate that you are using the BizInt 3.0 export format.



  4. Select "Save" to save this setting.

 

IDdb Export - Step by Step

(To create patents reports in BizInt Smart Charts for Patents from the IDdb3, follow the directions below, but under step 10, save the file and import it into BizInt Smart Charts for Patents. )

  1. Once you've done your IDdb3 search, click the "CUSTOMISE DISPLAY" button.
  2. The Customise Display panel will appear.
  3. You may sort results as you wish. The sort order can be modified in BizInt Smart Charts once the chart is created.
  4. Under "Display in", select "Browser view".
  5. Under "AND", select "Smartsheet export view*"
  6. Under "Export to", select "Export to BizInt" and check "Export all results"
  7. You can select and arrange the fields as you wish. The display can be modified in BizInt Smart Charts once the chart is created.
  8. The image below shows how your panel should look.



  9. Click "SHOW".
  10. You will be asked to confirm the number of records being exported.
  11. A browser panel will appear asking if you wish to open or save the file.
  • If you choose to open the file, BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines will be launched and the import panel will appear. If you are asked what application you wish to use to open the file, select "sc32.exe".
  • If you choose to save the file, you will see a panel with the file name "RESULTS_DISPLAY.brd" (Internet Explorer) or "RESULTS_DISPLAY.brd" (Netscape) filled in by default. Save this file (you can change the name), and then import the file in BizInt Smart Charts using the File | Import command.
