Problems with DataStar login

DataStar made several changes to the login process in Jan-Feb 2003 which may cause problems if using BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals to search DataStar. We have updated BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals to respond to these changes.

If you are having difficulties logging in to DataStar, or cannot login a second time, we suggest you download the latest release. You may also need to select the "Raptor Firewall" script:

  1. Download and install the latest version of BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals.
  2. Within BizInt Smart Charts, Charts. Choose Options | Communications and select "Raptor Firewall" from the script list. Make sure the radio button
    next to the script name is selected.
  3. If BizInt provided you with a custom firewall script previously, please contact us so we can modify your script.
  4. Click OK and proceed with your search.

Note: if you were searching DataStar prior to updating the BizInt Smart Charts software and following the process above, you will need to contact Dialog to reset your userid or wait until the following day to search.
