Creating reports from IDdb3

BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines and BizInt Smart Charts for Patents users can create tables containing key IDdb data. These tables can then be combined with tables created from other drug pipeline databases.

BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines 3.x supports a new enhanced IDdb export format with many more columns.

How do I create a BizInt Smart Charts report from the IDdb3?

In order to create the new, enhanced reports from the IDdb, you must be running Version 3.0 or higher of BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines, and you must set your IDdb results preferences correctly. Click here for instructions on creating charts from IDdb3.

TIP: If you are having trouble exporting from the IDdb, there could be a problem with popup blocking from either www.iddb.com or www.iddb3.com. A reported solution is to hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the SHOW button.

What information will be contained in a table created from the IDdb?

As of May 2004, Current Drugs is providing an enhanced XML format supporting more key fields, including:

What information will be contained in the corresponding record?

BizInt Smart Charts will create an associated record containing all the exported fields.

See sample IDdb record (PDF, 12 KB)

To display the full IDdb record, you will need to view it in the IDdb. Select View | Record on Publisher Website to see the complete record in the IDdb (you will need an IDdb userid.)

Can I combine my report from the IDdb with other pipeline databases?

Yes. First, create a report in BizInt Smart Charts by importing the IDdb data. Then, combine this chart with chart created from other pipeline databases. Many of the IDdb columns will be treated as common columns, and lined up with the equivalent data in the other pipeline databases.

See sample combined chart (PDF, 73 KB)

Are the images (structures) supported?

Yes. The bitmap images of the structures will be placed in a column labeled "Structure" in your table.

Can I import SmartSheets containing patent records?

Yes, assuming that the SmartSheet can be saved in the HTML format. A compound name will be created from the patent number, so that these records will have a title in SmartSheets.
