Problems with DataStar login
Change to DataStar Host Name - November 2007
As of November 2007, the DataStar host name has changed. If you use BizInt Smart Charts for Drug Pipelines to search DataStar, please make the following change:
- On the Options | Communications panel, click Setup Link.
- Change the host name to datastar.dialog.com
Troubleshooting
If you are having difficulties logging in to DataStar, or cannot login a second time, we suggest you download the latest release. You may also need to select the "Raptor Firewall" script:
- Download and install the latest version of BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals.
- Within BizInt Smart Charts, Charts. Choose Options | Communications and select "Raptor Firewall" from the script list. Make sure the radio button
next to the script name is selected.
- If BizInt provided you with a custom firewall script previously, please contact us so we can modify your script.
- Click OK and proceed with your search.
Note: if you were searching DataStar prior to updating the BizInt Smart Charts software and following the process above, you will need to contact Dialog to reset your userid or wait until the following day to search.
New and Fixed in Version 2.4.5 (2/12/2003)
- Users of the DataStar search interface who connect through a Raptor firewall may experience their userid being marked as "in use" after disconnecting. The "Raptor Firewall" script can be used to prevent this from happening.
- Fixed a bug in the Communications Options panel which caused the script selection to be blank when the panel opened. The selected script is now shown by default.
New and Fixed in Version 2.4.4 (1/30/2003)
- Fixed a new and different problem with logging in to DataStar caused by a change in the database password prompt. We've contacted DataStar to see what other changes are coming, but in the meantime we suggest that you check for updates.
New and Fixed in Version 2.4.3 (1/29/2003)
- Fixed a problem with logging in to DataStar which caused an "ID and Password don't match" error. This change is in response to a change in the DataStar security software.
