Creating reports from Ovid with BizInt Smart Charts

BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals can import the results of your search in Pharmaprojects, R&D Focus, and R&D Insight on Ovid (www.ovid.com). These steps describe how to build a chart from your search results.

Which set of instructions to use depends on whether or not you can see the "BizInt Smart Charts" option in the Citation Manager at the bottom of your results page.

If you see BizInt Smart Charts as a Citation Format

1. Select which records to export in the left column (All in this set is convenient).
2. Select Complete Reference in the Fields list.
3. Select BizInt Smart Charts in the Citation Format list.
4. Click the Save button.
5. If you choose to "open this file from it's current location" BizInt Smart Charts will be opened and will automatically import the records.
6. If you choose to "save this file to disk", simply import the file into BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals using the File | Import command.

If you do not see BizInt Smart Charts as a Citation Format

1. Select which records to export in the left column (All in this set is convenient).
2. Select Complete Reference in the Fields list.
3. Select Direct Export in the Citation Format list.
4. Click the Save button.
5. Make sure that you "save this file to disk". If you have Reference Manager installed, it may try to open the file. You don't want that to happen!
6. Import the saved file into BizInt Smart Charts for Pharmaceuticals using the File | Import command.
